Description
I.POSITION PURPOSE:
The Administrative Assistant is responsible for effectively performing administrative and/or project-related duties supporting department operations. The Administrative Assistant will provide support services to students, administrative staff, and faculty; will provide support services in the area of academic advising; and will disseminate information about law school policies and practices. Responsible for maintaining student records and the integrity of data while ensuring compliance with academic requirements.   Articulates processes and policies to students when necessary.

II.RESPONSIBILITIES:
•General office duties which include: greets and directs visitors, answers phones and takes messages, answer questions requiring students inquires.
•Perform routine clerical duties as assigned. Maintain correspondence logs, files, information databases, and other tracking systems as necessary.
•Maintains inventory of supplies, order supplies when necessary, completes processes and maintains paperwork.
•Perform special projects as assigned such as: data entry, collation of documents, data checking, etc.
•Works under direct supervision and follows standard procedures to accomplish assigned tasks.
•Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
•Handles highly confidential information with a high degree of integrity and discretion and in compliance with FERPA regulations.

III.BASIC KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
•Ability to handle complex and confidential information with discretion.
•Demonstrated skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with students, staff, and faculty.
•Ability to take initiative and ownership of projects.
•Demonstrated skills in facilitating and modeling a quality customer service orientation.
•Ability to work effectively within an ethnic, cultural and socially diverse student population.
•Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills; demonstrated strong interpersonal skills.
•Demonstrate exceptional planning and organization skills.
•Demonstrated ability to perform in a high-impact environment.

Skills
Bachelor’s Degree required. Excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills as well as knowledge and ability to think analytically with an in-depth knowledge of Microsoft programs such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word, or Outlook, and other various applications. Excellent customer service skills are required. Must have a working knowledge of office procedures and equipment and prior administrative experience. Prior work in a university environment preferred.
